SPY Attracts $6.1B in Assets as S&P 500 Ends Win Streak
- SPY led ETF inflows despite the market pullback on Tuesday.
- U.S. equity ETFs gained $11.2B as tech stocks slid.
The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) pulled in nearly $6.1 billion on Tuesday, increasing its total assets to $608.1 billion, according to data provided by FactSet. The massive inflows came as the S&P 500 fell 0.4%, ending its six-day winning streak amid a broader tech selloff.
The iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM) attracted $2 billion as small-caps showed resilience. The Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) gained $1.8 billion even as tech leaders like Nvidia Corp. (NVDA) slid 0.9%. The Innovator U.S. Equity Power Buffer ETF - June (PJUN) pulled in $619.9 million.
The iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) experienced the largest outflows at $478.3 million, while the SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF Trust (DIA) saw outflows of $342.5 million as the Dow lost 115 points. The United States Oil Fund (USO) lost $171.2 million in assets.
U.S. equity ETFs dominated with $11.2 billion in inflows, while U.S. fixed-income ETFs collected $1.7 billion. Currency ETFs gained $675.2 million, and international equity ETFs added just over $660 million. Overall, ETFs attracted $14.1 billion in new assets.
