While launches are keeping pace with last year’s record level, with 112 launches year-to-date, closures have been on the muted side. Roughly 100 funds shut down in 2015, but six months into 2016, only about 30 funds have shut their doors.

The most recent was the Barclays OFI SteelPath Midstream MLP ETN (OSMS), which saw its last day of trading on Wednesday. Although MLPs have been popular investments lately because of their potential for yield and income, OSMS never really took off after being rolled out in 2014.
