Janus Henderson recently announced it will be shuttering two of its hedged ETFs. The Janus Velocity Tail Risk Hedged Large Cap ETF (TRSK) and the Janus Velocity Volatility Hedged Large Cap ETF (SPXH) are set to see their last day of trading on March 20.

Both funds launched in 2013 and offer a combination of large-cap equities paired with exposure to VIX futures. SPXH is the larger of the two funds, with $32.3 million in assets under management (AUM), while TRSK has $13.5 million.

Janus Henderson offers seven other ETFs and has a total of $444.2 million in AUM in its ETFs.

Closures have been off to a slow start as large numbers of shutdowns are rare in the early months of the year. However, there are quite a few in the works for later in 2018, with WisdomTree shutting down nine of its funds on March 16 and iPath scheduled to close 50 of its ETNs in April, among others.
