Fresh record highs in U.S. stocks prompted investors to plow $22.9 billion into U.S.-listed exchange-traded funds last week. That brought year-to-date inflows up to $230.3 billion.

The S&P 500 climbed above 5,300 for the first time ever last week as a better-than-feared inflation report eased investors worried about consumer prices and interest rates.

U.S. equity ETFs pulled in $14.7 billion of new money last week, leading all ETF categories. U.S. fixed income ETFs followed suit with weekly inflows of $5.2 billion.

The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield fell as low as 4.34% last week, significantly below the 4.7% high from April.

Meanwhile, nine of last week's 10 best-performing funds were crypto related, topped by the 13% gain in the First Trust SkyBridge Crypto Industry And Digital Economy ETF (CRPT).

S&P 500 ETF In Demand

Topping last week’s flows charts was a pair of S&P 500 ETFs: the Vanguard S&P 500 Index Fund (VOO) and the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY), which brought in $2 billion and $1.8 billion, respectively, of new cash.

The Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) was next, with inflows of $1.8 billion.

Along with the broader S&P 500, the tech-heavy Nasdaq-100 also hit records last week. Key Nasdaq component Nvidia will report earnings this week.

Meanwhile, in terms of fixed income, the iShares iBoxx USD High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG) and the iShares iBoxx USD Investment Grade Corporate Bond ETF (LQD) led the way, with weekly inflows of $1.2 billion and $1 billion, respectively.

AMJ Tops Outflows

On the outflows side of the ledger, the JPMorgan Alerian MLP Index ETN (AMJ) was far and away the biggest loser, with redemptions of $2.8 billion.

The Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) and the Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares (SOXL) were next, each with redemptions of just under $700 million

The ProShares UltraPro QQQ (TQQQ) was another leveraged tech-focused fund to make the top 10 outflows list, with redemptions of more than $400 million.
