BDDDB Base Metals Double Long ETN
BDD Fund Description
BDD tracks the performance of futures contracts on copper, aluminum, and zinc.
BDD Factset Analytics Insight
As a levered product, BDD is not a buy-and-hold ETF; it’s a short-term tactical instrument. Unlike most levered funds—which usually reset daily—BDD offers 2x exposure over 1-month periods. Over any period longer than one month, or that doesn’t align with the start and stop dates (first and last day of the month), returns can vary significantly from the promised 2x exposure. Management fees are reasonable but, as a short-term product, trading costs are more important here. To that end, BDD is expensive to access—spreads are wide and volume is thin.
