CROP Fund Description

CROP tracks a market-cap-weighted index of small-cap companies that are involved in agribusiness.

CROP Factset Analytics Insight

CROP is the only global agriculture ETF focused on small-caps. While most of CROP's competitors include heavy allocations to large chemicals companies, CROP's strategy tilts it toward smaller food and tobacco companies. The fund dramatically overweights Japan and China and hugely underweights the US and Canada which makes it more international than its competitors. Unsurprisingly, it doesn’t Fits our broader benchmark, but captures the small-cap space well. CROP's 0.75% expense ratio is steep and it isn't liquid, but the same could be said for most of its competitors in the segment. If you like Asia and prefer companies like Ebro Foods and Nippon Meat Packers over Monsanto, CROP is worth a closer look.
