EMBH Factset Analytics Insight
EMBH provides the return of the iShares J.P. Morgan USD Emerging Markets Bond (EMB) while simultaneously attempting to hedge investors’ exposure to interest-rate risk. EMB includes US-dollar-denominated sovereign debt issued by emerging market countries with more than $1B in market value outstanding, and at least 2 years remaining in maturity. The fund attempts to mitigate the interest-rate risk of these securities through short positions in US Treasury futures and interest-rate swaps. For this exposure, the fund charges a bit more than its underlying ETF EMB. This is to be expected due to the interest-rate hedge component layered with the underlying ETF. We’ll have full scoring in January 2016.
