EOPS Factset Analytics Insight
EOPS is a fund of funds that bets on the idea that alpha opportunities exist in deep-value stocks where there is a significant gap between a stock’s price and its intrinsic value. It does so through a long/short strategy that combines deep value investing and catalyst trading. The strategy provides exposure to value stocks of North American companies, focusing on “old economy” sectors like industrials, consumer discretionary and materials. Securities are evaluated based on their relative valuation, and are identified as under- or over-valued based on proprietary measures. Generally, the actively-managed fund offers long position when the market price is believed to be below the intrinsic value, and short position when above the intrinsic value. In addition, EOPS has the flexibility to use options, indices, and other instruments, allowing the fund to aim for alpha and mitigate risk.
