JGLDAmplify Pure Junior Gold Miners ETF
JGLD Fund Description
JGLD tracks a tier-weighted index that holds micro-, small- and midcap stocks of global companies engaged in exploratory gold mining.
JGLD Factset Analytics Insight
JGLD targets two segments in the global gold mining market: junior and exploratory gold producers. The fund requires companies to have 75% or more of their revenues or surveyed deposits derived from gold. Senior gold producers are totally excluded from the fund’s exposure and as the name of the fund suggests, majority of JGLD’s exposure are allocated to junior gold miners. The index applies a modified equal-weighting—it first uses a market-cap-weighted allocation between each gold producer segment, and then employs equal-weighting in each segment. Sector weights are further reviewed and adjusted through a liquidity optimization process. The fund will generally use a replication methodology to track the index but it may also use sampling in some circumstances. The index is rebalanced semi-annually.
