RIGZ Factset Analytics Insight
RIGZ is an actively-managed fund that offers exposure to crypto-miners and semiconductor companies that have switched to cleaner sources of energy. The fund invests in firms including computer chip producers, computer hardware manufacturers, and in market participants creating cryptocurrency themselves which are located in developed markets. In selecting constituents, the fund advisor begins with evaluating a company’s financials, hardware quality, and management team. Eligible securities are then further assessed and ranked using a pre-defined clean energy profile which is determined by the size, energy mix and subcategory of its operations, purchased carbon offsets, and future expected clean energy commitments. The advisor also scores each type of energy source for each company and defines them as clean energy miners or non-clean energy miners depending on their calculations against a benchmark. Approximately 15 to 30 firms are chosen regardless of their market-cap.
