RIGZ actively invests in equity securities of bitcoin miners and semiconductor firms located in developed countries. Selection is based on fundamental criteria and weighted towards bitcoin miners.
RIGZ Factset Analytics Insight
RIGZ is an actively managed fund that offers primary exposure to bitcoin miner companies and secondary exposure to semiconductor firms which are located in developed markets. The fund invests in companies that engage in and/or assist in creating bitcoin, as well as those that develop or manufacture computer chips used in bitcoin mining. Bitcoin miners can also be categorized into three namely self-mining (most preferred), hosted miner, and hosting services. In selecting constituents, the fund advisor evaluates companies based on their financials, hardware quality, and management team, and chooses 15-30 companies of any size. Weightings will depend on the assessment of certain criteria including a company’s business model, revenue changes, public disclosures, financial fundamentals, and trading volumes. Prior to May 26, 2022, the fund was known as the Viridi Cleaner Energy Crypto-Mining & Semiconductor ETF which instead invested in cryptominers, and imposed a clean energy screening.
