WIL Factset Analytics Insight
WIL offers exposure to firms led by women. It’s the only ETP with exposure to this narrow theme. While WIL’s thesis—that more diverse leadership leads to better decisions and better returns—is narrow and unique, its stock-picking method is simple. Firms with female CEOs rank the highest, followed by those with significant female board representation. WIL maintains sector diversification by pulling a maximum of 10 names from each GICS sector, ranked by this method. The stocks get market cap weighted, which, along with the sector rules, should make the fund a bit more marketlike. Still, this is not the product for plain-vanilla coverage. WIL is an ETN—a structure that makes more sense when the underlying assets don’t work in a vanilla ETF structure, which is not the case here. Investors haven't bought in yet: Liquidity is very weak so far, and the note has attracted few net creations.
