ETF Watch: 5 More Funds To Close, Including 4 SPDRs
Another five ETFs are set to close, including the recently launched Select Sector SPDR.
The closures of five SPDR ETFs have been announced, and another ETF’s closure date has been moved back by a few days. However, the most interesting part of the SPDR closures is the fact that one of the fund’s set to close is the Financial Services Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLFS).
XLFS launched a year ago alongside the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE). The two funds were added to the Select Sector SPDRs family after the Global Industry Classification System split the financial sector into a financial services category and a real estate category.
The Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) has shed its real estate holdings and now more closely reflects the holdings of XLFS. Meanwhile, XLFS is set to see its last day of trading on Nov. 14.
The four other SPDR ETFs that are set to close include the SPDR MSCI International Real Estate Currency Hedged ETF (HREX), SPDR MSCI Taiwan StrategicFactors ETF (QTWN), SPDR MSCI Mexico StrategicFactors ETF (QMEX) and SPDR MSCI South Korea StrategicFactors ETF (QKOR). While HREX is scheduled to shut down after the close of trading on Nov. 11, the remaining funds will see their last day of trading on Nov. 14.
Finally, the AdvisorShares YieldPro ETF (YPRO) will shut down on Oct. 24.
