21Shares Global Distribution Head Moessler to Depart
Isabell Moessler will leave the crypto fund issuer at the end of the year.
21Shares global head of distribution Isabell Moessler is set to depart the group at the end of the year, etf.com sister publication ETF Stream wrote.
Moessler, who joined the cryptocurrency ETP issuer in July 2021, stepped down from her role earlier this month and will leave the business at the end of the year.
During her three-year tenure, Moessler has helped grow the business from 14 to 43 crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs) with $3.1bn assets under management (AUM). While the firm, which is affiliated with 21 co., hasn't issued U.S. ETFs, it has partnered with Ark Invest on the $2.73 billion ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) and has filed to issue a spot ethereum ETF. Co-founder Hani Rashwan is a member of the etf.com editorial advisory board.
Moessler has almost two decades of experience in the ETF industry and joined 21Shares from Euronext where she worked since 2017, most recently head of business management for global markets. Prior to this, she spent six years at ETF Securities, where she was executive director, head of strategic partnerships.
She also held roles at Willis Towers Watson and was the iShares team leader for Europe between 2005 and 2008 when it was run by Barclays Global Investors. 21Shares expanded its senior team in October last year, with the appointment of industry veteran Mandy Chiu as head of financial product development.
A 21Shares spokesperson confirmed Moessler's departure.
“Isabell helped develop and grow the sales and distribution function to the robust team we have in place today,” the spokesperson said.
The company launched the 21Shares Toncoin Staking ETP (TONN) in March and the 21Shares Celestia Staking ETP (ATIA) a month earlier.
21Shares also listed its first four crypto ETPs on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) after the Financial Conduct Authority greenlighted professional investor access to crypto exchange-traded notes (ETNs) in March.
The 21Shares Bitcoin ETN (ABTC), the 21Shares Ethereum Staking ETN (AETH), the 21Shares Bitcoin Core ETN (CBTC) and the 21Shares Ethereum Core ETN (ETHC) are all listed on the LSE.
