First created by Bridgewater founder Ray Dalio and his colleagues in the mid-1990s, the All Weather risk-parity strategy was designed as a portfolio that could hold up across a wide range of economic environments.
The ETF version, where State Street implements a daily model portfolio provided by Bridgewater, has resonated with investors. In less than a year since launch, the fund gathered over $1 billion.
The portfolio holds a mix of global stocks, bonds and commodities, bringing a strategy long used by institutions into the ETF wrapper.
