ARK Invest Europe has partnered with trading and investing platform eToro to unveil a "smart" portfolio of ETFs covering technology and innovation.

The ARK-FutureFirst portfolio contains seven ARK ETFs capturing technology, healthcare and sustainability, including three of ARK Invest’s ETFs that debuted in April this year.

These include the ARK Innovation UCITS ETF (ARKK), the ARK Genomic Revolution UCITS ETF (ARKG) and the ARK Artificial Intelligence & Robotics UCITS ETF (ARKI), with weightings of 13.7%, 11.5% and 16.1% respectively.

The portfolio also contains four Rize ETFs, including the Rize Cybersecurity and Data Privacy UCITS ETF (CYBR), the Rize Sustainable Future of Food UCITS ETF FOOD), Rize Environmental Impact 100 UCITS ETF (LIFE) and the Rize Global Sustainable Infrastructure UCITS ETF (NFRA).

Cathie Wood, founder and CEO of Ark Invest, said: “As more investors around the world are gaining access to ETFs via the growth of digital platforms, we are excited that this partnership will enable us to introduce some of our best ideas and original strategies at ARK Invest Europe to eToro’s 38 million retail investors.”

Gil Shapira, CIO at eToro, added: “With the ARK-FutureFirst portfolio, eToro users can seek growth through truly long-term, cross-sector trends that are predicted to not just shift markets but the world for decades to come.”

Actively Managed ETFs Slow Start

ARK Invest entered the European market in April after acquiring thematic specialist Rize ETF from AssetCo last September.

The three actively managed ETFs suffered a slow start in Europe, though two of them have ranked among the top 50 thematic ETF inflows year to date, according to data from ETFbook.

Though the European retail market still lags behind the US, retail uptake of ETFs has been accelerating through partnerships with neobrokers.

Recent examples include Franklin Templeton teaming up with Trade Republic to offer its entire ETF range and Amundi extending its partnership with Scalable Capital to offer ETFs on the platform.
