Growth stocks steadied this week as investors grew more comfortable with the idea of higher interest rates. The popular ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK) jumped more than 7% from Friday to Friday, making up a big chunk of its recent losses.

The recovery in growth stocks helped the broader markets push to fresh record highs. The S&P 500 topped 3,960 for the first time ever on Thursday, lifting its year-to-date gain to 5.4%.

But even as growth stocks made up ground, investors remained enamored with the value, cyclical and small cap stocks that are most levered to economic growth.

The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) was the top flows winner of the week, with inflows of $1.5 billion, followed by iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM) with inflows of $1.4 billion.

Notably, two value ETFs, the iShares MSCI USA Value Factor ETF (VLUE) and the iShares Russell 2000 Value ETF (IWN), made the top 10 inflows list.

Net weekly inflows for all U.S.-listed ETFs in aggregate during the week were $16.5 billion, pushing year-to-date inflows up to $181.5 billion. That compares to $89.8 billion at this same time a year ago.

ARK ETFs Shed Assets

On the other hand, investors lightened up on yield-sensitive funds as rates pushed to new highs during the week. The 10-year Treasury bond yield hit 1.64% on Friday, a 14-month high.

The iShares iBoxx USD Investment Grade Corporate Bond ETF (LQD), the iShares iBoxx USD High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG) and the Vanguard Intermediate-Term Corporate Bond ETF (VCIT) were among the largest flows losers of the week.

The SPDR Gold Trust (GLD), the ARK Genomic Revolution ETF (ARKG) and the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW) also found themselves on the top outflows list.
