Daily ETF Watch: EM Smart Beta Fund Filed
Global X plans new addition to its Strategic Beta lineup.
Global X Funds has filed for an addition to its multifactor smart-beta family of ETFs that will target emerging markets. The Global X Scientific Beta Emerging Markets ETF joins four other ETFs that cover Europe, the U.S. and Asia.
The Global X Scientific Beta funds already trading include the following:
- Global X Scientific Beta US ETF (SCIU | F-78)
- Global X Scientific Beta Europe ETF (SCID | F-73)
- Global X Scientific Beta Asia ex-Japan ETF (SCIX | F-57)
- Global X Scientific Beta Japan ETF (SCIJ | F-71)
The emerging markets ETF tracks the Scientific Beta Emerging Multi-Beta Multi-Strategy Equal Risk Contribution Index. Like the other funds, it will target the value, size, low-volatility and momentum factors. The index methodology then applies multiple weighting approaches to maximize the diversification level of the index.
The filing did not include an expense ratio or ticker. It didn’t mention an exchange, but the other Global X Scientific Beta funds listed on the NYSE Arca exchange.
