Calm conditions in financial markets swayed investors to add money into ETFs this week. Net inflows into U.S.-listed exchange-traded funds totaled $3.7 billion in the week-ending Thursday, March 31, led by a net $1.9 billion inflow into U.S. equity ETFs.

International equity ETFs, U.S. fixed-income ETFs, and international fixed-income ETFs all saw positive inflows as well, according to FactSet data.

In terms of individual funds, the PowerShares QQQ (QQQ | A-67) took the top spot on the flows list, with $710 million going into the ETF.

That was followed by the First Trust Energy AlphaDEX (FXN | B-47), which gathered $647 million. The inflows into FXN contrasted with the $641 million of outflows from sister fund, the First Trust Health Care AlphaDEX (FXH | B-68). The highly-popular First Trust Dorsey Wright Focus 5 (FV | B-41) shuffles between the various First Trust ETFs based on a relative strength model.

Other funds with notable outflows for the week include the WisdomTree Europe Hedged Equity ETF (HEDJ | B-47), which lost $460 million; the iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (TLT | A-83), which lost $416 million; and the the SPDR S&P Regional Banking ETF (KRE | A-70), which lost $400 million, or 18% of its assets under management.
