The Fed’s dovish shift continued to reverberate throughout the markets this week, as investors threw another hefty sum into U.S.-listed ETFs. On net, $10.7 billion flowed into the space, with a relatively even split going into equities and fixed income products.

This week’s inflows added to last week’s strong $28.7 billion haul, and pushed year-to-date inflows up to $132.9 billion, ahead of last year’s $129.4 billion pace.

In last week’s Fed meeting, the U.S. central bank strongly hinted that it might cut interest rates soon, buoying prices for financial assets across the board. That’s resulted in investors buying up ETFs of all stripes, from equities to bonds to commodities.

For the week ending Thursday, June 27, $3.3 billion flowed into U.S. equity ETFs; $619 million went into international equity ETFs; $4.8 billion headed for U.S. fixed income ETFs and $1.7 billion entered commodity ETFs.

Investors Hop Into ‘GLD’

On the inflows side, three Russell equity ETFs topped the list, including the iShares Russell 1000 Value ETF (IWD), with a stellar $4.8 billion haul.

Also popular was the SPDR Gold Trust (GLD), which took in $1.4 billion, as gold prices surged to a six-year high above $1,420/oz.

Meanwhile, the iShares iBoxx USD High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG) and the iShares iBoxx USD Investment Grade Corporate bond ETF (LQD) were the biggest fixed income flows winners of the week, each with creations of more than $1.2 billion.

Big Outflows For ‘IVV’

On the outflows side, the iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV), a product popular among long-term investors, registered outflows of $6.5 billion.

The First Trust Cloud Computing ETF (SKYY) also made the outflows list, with redemptions of $1.1 billion, reversing an equally large inflow last week in what is likely a “heartbeat trade.”
