Last week saw U.S.-listed ETFs add $14.7 billion, with funds covering Asia and China in particular, well-represented in the rankings. The iShares MSCI China ETF (MCHI) claimed the No. 5 spot for inflows, with a gain of $550.3 million.

It was immediately followed by the KraneShares CSI China Internet ETF (KWEB), which was hit especially hard earlier this year in terms of performance but has been seeing a bit of a turnaround; KWEB pulled in $464.2 million during the week.

The iShares MSCI Core Pacific ETF (IPAC), which excludes China’s market but includes Hong Kong, gained $360.9 million and claimed the No. 8 spot in the rankings, while the Xtrackers Harvest CSI 300 China A-Shares ETF (ASHR) added $324.3 million.

But the largest U.S. market ETFs still represented the lion’s share of the flows, with the iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) and the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO) claiming the Nos. 1 and 2 spots, with gains of $5.49 billion and $4.65 billion, respectively. The Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) was the third ETF with the highliest inflows last week, taking in $3 billion.

The remaining funds that were in the top 10 for inflows included the SPDR Portfolio Intermediate Corporate Bond ETF (SPIB), with a gain of $899.9 million; the Vanguard Value ETF (VTV), which added $367.3 million; and the iShares Core High Dividend ETF (HDV) with an inflow of $325.8 million.

Outflows

Despite two key S&P 500 ETFs topping the inflows chart, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) led outflows, with a loss of $2.84 billion for the week. The iShares iBoxx USD Investment Grade Corporate Bond ETF (LQD) followed, with a loss of $1.3 billion. It was one of four fixed income ETFs in the top 10 for outflows.

While SPIB was one of the top gainers for the week, the Vanguard Intermediate-Term Corporate Bond ETF (VCIT), which offers similar coverage, bled $1.07 billion, claiming the No. 4 spot. It was followed by the iShares iBox USD High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG), with a loss of $916.1 million. The iShares National Muni Bond ETF (MUB), the largest muni bond ETF on the market, lost $354.5 million.

Three ETFs in the bottom rankings represented foreign markets, with the JPMorgan BetaBuilders Europe ETF (BBEU)losing $1.14 billion and the JPMorgan BetaBuilders Japan ETF (BBJP) dropping $353.2 million. The iShares MSCI Taiwan ETF (EWT) saw $344.7 million in outflows.

The sole sector fund among the top ETFs for inflows and outflows for last week was the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF), which decreased by $337.1 million.
