It was steady as she goes for ETF flows, as investors put $15.3 billion to work in the space. That brought year-to-date inflows for all U.S.-listed ETFs up to $335.7 billion, ahead of the $115.8 billion seen at this same time a year ago.

The S&P 500 hit fresh record highs this week, shrugging off a steep pullback in high-growth stocks. U.S. equity ETFs picked up $7.5 billion in fresh cash during the period, ahead of the $2.2 billion that went into international equity ETFs and the $2.6 billion that went into U.S. fixed income ETFs.

Outflows From ‘ARKK’

Taking a look at the list of individual ETF winners, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) topped the inflows list with creations of $2.2 billion. It was followed by the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) and the iShares Core MSCI EAFE ETF (IEFA), with inflows of more than $815 million each.

On the flip side, the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ), the SPDR S&P Dividend ETF (SDY) and the ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK) topped the weekly outflows list.

ARKK was hammered during the week as the ETF plunged along with its high-growth holdings. ARKK registered weekly outflows of $761 million, but is still showing inflows of $6.8 billion for the year as a whole.
