Weekly Inflows Top $16B

The U.S. stock market hovered just below record highs this week, giving investors confidence to add to their ETF holdings. On net, $16.1 billion flowed into U.S.-listed ETFs.

Of that, $8.4 billion headed into U.S. equity ETFs, $1.9 billion went into international equity ETFs and $5.1 billion entered into U.S. fixed income ETFs.

Year-to-date inflows now stand at $211.7 billion, ahead of last year’s $201.8 billion pace.

Inflows For ‘JNK,’ Outflows For ‘GLD’

In terms of individual ETFs, the usual suspects like the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) and the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) headlined the top inflows list.

The SPDR Bloomberg Barclays High Yield Bond ETF (JNK) was the biggest fixed inflow flows winner, while the iShares Core MSCI Total International Stock ETF (IXUS) was the most popular international equity fund of the week.

On the outflows side, the iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV), the iShares Short Treasury Bond ETF (SHV) and the SPDR Gold Trust (GLD) were notable losers.
