A fresh wave of inflows for U.S.-listed ETFs pushed the year-to-date haul above last year’s levels. On net, investors added $11.5 billion to ETFs this week, sending year-to-date inflows to $140.7 billion, ahead of last year’s pace of $137.1 billion.

The U.S. stock market stayed near record highs this week, buoyed by better-than-expected earnings reports and expectations of a Fed rate cut later this month.

U.S. equity ETFs pulled in $8.7 billion in new money in the week ending Thursday, July 18. Flows winners included the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY), the First Trust Capital Strength ETF (FTCS), the Goldman Sachs ActiveBeta U.S. Large Cap Equity ETF (GSLC) and the iShares Edge MSCI Min Vol U.S.A. ETF (USMV).

MBB Picks Up $515M

Other asset classes weren’t as popular as U.S. equities this week, but they still ended up with net inflows. U.S. fixed income funds pulled in $1.4 billion, and commodity ETFs gathered $807 million.

The iShares MBS ETF (MBB) and the SPDR Gold Trust (GLD) were the biggest winners in those segments, with inflows of $515 million and $638 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, on the outflows side, the iShares 7-10 Year Treasury Bond ETF (IEF), the Vanguard Extended Market ETF (VXF) and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) were the biggest losers.
